LOVE this product!!! |
This is one of the few products that I've bought and completely used up. I didn't love it at first, because I bought it expecting to use it as a foundation (not great coverage). Then on a whim one day, I applied it over mineral foundation and it's been love ever since. I basically just use it as a finishing powder. I take a big fluffy kabuki brush, swipe it over the top of the powder, then lightly buff it onto my face. The result is (the appearance of) perfectly smooth skin, that never looks chalky, cakey, or too matte. It doesn't look shiny or shimmery either, though. It's just perfect for someone who wants their makeup to look nicely finished, without actually looking powdery. If someone is going for extra full coverage, or a super matte finish, this is not the product for them.
Also, there's only 2 colors. They're surprisingly neutral colors, but they will not work for everyone like Laura claims. I usually wear the 2nd or 3rd lightest shade a brand offers (I'd consider myself "light to medium-light" and I use the Fair version. This product would not suit super fair porcelain ladies, in my opinion. The Regular version is not that much darker than the fair, so I'd say that shade is limited to "Medium" Caucasian, Asian or Hispanic skintones. Unfortunately, I don't think it would suit darker tones.
Overall, I think this is a great product, and worth the money. One compact lasted through 6 months of almost daily use. My sensitive skin has never had any sort of reaction to it, and I've gotten lots of compliments on my "nice skin" (which believe me, is just an illusion due to this makeup). This product cooperates nicely with other products such as primers, mineral and liquid foundations, blushes, and even MAC Fix+ spray. I really love it, and I will buy it again and again! |

none can COMPARE!!!! |
|
I love this baked powder. I used to have acne/acne scars and this covers great. It does not make my skin more oily or drier. I have tried other brand name mineral powders to otc kinds and none can compare. Laura Geller's baked powder does not feel caky, messy, dry or cause any irritations to my skin nor does it cause me to break out. It evens out, covers any issues and just makes me look so nautural. I love this product and have been using it for years. It's worth ever penny and a try. I know you'll love it! |

Better than average...but not worth its "face value." |
|
Eh. This powder is so-so. It does the trick, but for the price, I was expecting something more luminous. I'm lucky to have good skin, but for someone who is trying to cover blemishes or dark circles, I doubt this powder would satisfy. I use it to set my under eye cover-up and that's about it. It works better with a sponge than a powder brush...the powder brush just makes a mess. And it doesn't come with the sponge (c'mon, throw in the sponge Laura...or include a little brush like Paula Dorf does). As far as having a foundation component, I don't see it. The more you put on, the more pancake-like it looks. It just a tad better than the Physicians Formula stuff you can get at the drug store. |

Not as good as BE |
|
Coverage was not as good as BE and I would not be ordering foundation if I did not want coverage. Color was ok. I sent it back. |

not the best for light Asian skin |
Three things:
(1) This powder works well for its advertised purpose: that it's a color corrector and foundation in one. I applied it over some very red pimples and it masked them rather well. (Although, when applied with a face big brush, the color correction wasn't nearly as effective for my dark scars.)
(2) This pressed powder is VERY powdery. Even a light swirl with my brush caused a bunch of loosened powder particles that made a small mess.
(3) This is not the best color for light Asian skin. Even when I applied it only lightly, it was pretty clear that my neck was yellow but my face was beige. |
