The experience of the rattle is primarily tactile. The moving bead and organic textures encourage the development of senses. Each rattle has a specific shape, which is found within the piece of wood. As Michelangelo was quoted to say, "the shape is in the marble I only remove what doesn't belong." The "Cheery" Rattle is crafted from American cherry with a contrasting birch dowel. After the rattles are sanded baby smooth, an non-toxic All-Natural Beeswax Polish is hand applied bringing out the uniqueness of the grain. My 6-month old son is only interested in this rattle for about a minute, but I think he's only interested in most things for that long unless they have bells and whistles. I think it's a great toy, though, and he does enjoy teething on it. He may like it more as he gets a little older. I am not sorry I bought it! |
