The ProAccurate Digital Cooking Thermometer is perfect for checking the temperature of thin cuts of meat, fish, and poultry. Featuring an easy to read digital display, the durable stainless steel housing easily penetrates meats and quickly registers the temperature. The thermometer has a range from -40 to 450 degrees F and is accurate to within half a degree. The thermometer may be recalibrated to ensure continued accuracy and turns off automatically after 10 minutes to prolong the life of the battery. Instructions and battery are included. |

No more guessing |
I am very happy with the ability to know how done a thick steak is before either eating it bloody or dry and tough.Checked it against a certified theromometer at room temp and it was 1.5 off so I left the calibration
as is.Good product at a low price. |

Broken after less than 1 year |

It worked well for a few months. Then the readings started getting very erratic, jumping all over the place. I replaced the battery and tried recalibrating, but it did not help. Now it just shows 3 dashes on the display. I bought it based on a recommendation from Cooks Illustrated, but unfortunately had the same problems as a number of the other reviews here. Would have been a good product if it did not malfunction so quickly. |

GRANDPA'S A GREAT COOK |
I am the family chef..I cook probably 320 days a year. A quick read thermometer like this is a great help in putting wonderful meals on the family table.
I use it when I BBQ steak, Roasts, etc. I use it when I roast or BBQ turkeys, hams, etc. It is an invaluable aid in getting foods "just right".
It has a large display, easy to use controls and reads fairly quickly

Short and to the point here, IT WORKS! Especially during the holidays I do alot of baking and my time is pressed to perform the duties of yeast baking and this thermometer outperforms all others for rapid response.
